Scripture says “But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.” 1 Timothy 5:8 (KJV)
An infidel is an unbeliever and unbelievers will not enter into the Kingdom of God. Scripture says, “the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” Revelation 21:8” (NKJV)
Jesus said if we do not feed and clothe strangers, we are in danger of going into everlasting punishment (hell). If he said that about strangers, what do you think he says to those who do not feed and clothe their own children, their own flesh and blood?
Perhaps, he will say, “to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink; I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me. Then they also will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?’ Then He will answer them, saying, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’ And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life” (Matthew 25:41-46).
Poor children and families in America are created by absent fathers. Jesus does not take this likely; he will hold men responsible for what they did not do for their own children. He said what they have not done for them they have not done for Him. It appears that Jesus takes parental neglect personally. In the Old Testament scripture says, the hearts of the fathers should return to the children or He/God would send a curse (Malachi 4:5).
